Articulation
- The head can rotate/tilt (though limited) on a single ball-and-socket neck joint.
- Clavicle antennas can flip up and down on each piece.
- The torso can tilt frontwards/backwards in an extent, or sideways due to its circular joint.
- Shoulder joints can raise upwards in an extent, or swing frontwards.
- The arms can...
- Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
- Raise horizontally. (The shoulder armors and the cable connector frame must be lifted up first)
- The upper arms can rotate.
- Both the elbow and knees are double-jointed.
- The manipulators can rotate on a peg-and-socket joint, and the wrist joints can tilt and pivot.
- The poseable manipulator features fully-articulated fingers.
- The weapon-holding/open-palm hands' thumbs can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- The waist can turn 360 degrees, though you must rotate it to an extent due to the build-in wires.
- The upper thigh joints can swing frontwards/backwards on a peg, raise horizontally, and/or rotate on each piece.
- Front and rear skirt armors are jointed to avoid interference.
- Ankle joints can tilt and/or pivot.
- The front foot pieces can pivot.
- GN Beam Saber joints can pivot up & down.
- GN Beam Dagger joints can fold out.
Weapons/Other Gimmicks
- The hands are swappable.
- The weapons can be wielded by either the poseable of fixed hands. (the solid weapon-holding hand is suggested in one wants to display Exia with the GN Sword.)
- Gundam Exia can be installed with either a GN Drive or a Cover Piece.
- All of the weapons feature flip-out tabs for stable weapon handling.
- The weapons (and the extra manipulators) can store underneath the display base.
- GN Sword can be rearranged into storage or attack modes.
- GN Sword's blade can be rearranged into idle or attack mode.
- GN Beam Saber/Dagger hilts can be optionally removed as handheld weapons.
- GN Long & Short Swords can be mounted onto the waist parts when the built-in adapters are slid out.
- The blue panels on the GN Shield can expand by pulling the upper and lower sections of the shield.
- The claws underneath the feet can be optionally flipped out.
- The GN Drive's panels can be opened.
- Gundam Exia can be optionally mounted onto the Display Stand.
- The GN Drive can be attached onto one of the sub-arms.
Tips & Tricks
- For better results, some details are needed to be applied with Gundam Markers or Mr. Color paints.
- Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers/marking decals and if any, painted details.
- If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
- The Repair Parts for PG Gundam Exia can be used to remodel this kit into Gundam Exia Repair.
- The Clear Color Body parts for PG Gundam Exia can be used to swap the opaque pieces.
Variants
Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
