Tips & Tricks
- For better results, some or most of the details are needed to be applied and panel-lined with Gundam Markers.
- Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers and if any, marking decals and/or painted details.
- The Beam Zanber's hilt and Core Fighter's front are molded completely in white, where only tip of the Buster Gun's handle is in proper color.
- The are no stickers provided for these parts.
- The Heat Daggers' hilts require painting in white as those are molded in one piece.
Customizing-based tips
- Front skirt's joint can be optionally separated.
- The fist parts from the HGBC Skull Weapon can be used on this Gunpla.
- The head, right shoulder armor, and the lower section can combine with HGUC Crossbone Gundam X-3's parts to form XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 "Patchwork".
Variants
- Main Article: HGBF XM-X9999 Crossbone Gundam Maoh: Variants
- Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
Notes & Trivia
- This Gunpla is the first HGUC iteration of the Crossbone Gundam unit, and the second HG iteration since HGBF Crossbone Gundam Maoh.
- The Gunpla's design is based on it's Katoki redesign rather than it’s original manga design, this is noticeable in the added mechanical details such as the squares on the bottoms of the shoulders and the ”screws” on the thighs. Interestingly the revive series that would soon follow this kit would focus heavily on the original source designs. The result of this is that the RG, HG and MG Crossbones are very similar in appearance and that no official manga accurate model kit exists officially at this time.
