Kit Features & Gimmicks

• The kit can be built into four different configurations on the head:
  1. Sensor Mask + Type F v-fin
  2. Gundam type face + Type F v-fin
  3. Sensor Mask + Type F2 v-fin
  4. Gundam type face + Type F2 v-fin

Articulation

• The head can swivel/tilt on a double-sided ball-joint neck.
• Shoulder joints can swing back and forth.
• The arms can...
  • Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
  • Raise horizontally. (Depending on how you bent, the cables may hinder its articulation.)
• The upper arms can rotate.
• Elbow joints can be bent up to 90 degrees.
• The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint if slightly pulled down.
• The waist can rotate 360 degrees.
• The hip joint axis can swivel on the ball-and-socket joint connection.
• The upper thighs can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint, though the backward articulation is limited due to the non-poseable rear skirt armor.
  • Front skirt armors can pivot up and down to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
• The legs feature double-jointed knee parts.
• The feet can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint and/or tilt forward/backward.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks

• The left hand is swappable.
• Any of the weapons can be wielded by Astraea's hands.
• Proto GN Sword can convert into Standby or Attack mode.
• GN Beam Saber handles can be optionally removed from the rear waist as handheld weapons.
• Gundam Astraea Type F can mount the GN Launcher. (The clavicle antennae must be removed first)
• GN Beam Rifle can mount onto the right hip via an adapter.
• GN Hammer can be rearranged into attack mode.
  • GN Hammer can also mount onto the left hip via an adapter.
• NGN Bazooka's foregrip can be swung out.
• GN Hand Missile can be welded by either hand or mounted onto the forearms.
• The GN Beam Pistols + Holsters can mount onto Dynames' legs.
  • GN Beam Pistols can also be removed from the holsters as handheld weapons.
• Gundam Astraea Type F can mount onto any Action Bases (sold separately) by removing the panel for the 3mm hardpoint on the kit's lower crotch.

Tips & Tricks

• For better results, some or most of the details need to be painted and panel-lined with Gundam markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
• Top coat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers, marking decals, and, if any, painted details.
  • If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the translucent and the softer parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
• Care must be taken while painting the ABS joints: Using enamel or excessive lacquer paint layers can damage the plastic.

Customizing-based tips

• The Avalanche parts (including the Dash Unit) from the HG Gundam Avalanche Exia Dash can be used to remodel the Astraea Type F into Gundam Avalanche Astraea Type F'. (Extensive repaint on the Avalanche parts is required.)
• The left open hand from the HG Gundam Dynames kit can be used on this Gunpla. (Repaint required)
• The right open hand from the HG Gundam Kyrios kit can be used on this Gunpla. (Repaint required)
• The decals from the Gundam Marking Decal (Dengeki Hobby June 2008 freebie) and/or the Celestial Being-themed decals from the Gundam Marking Decal (Special Color Version) can be used to decorate this Gunpla.
• The angled hands from Gundam Exia Dark Matter/Gundam Amazing Exia can be used for this kit (Repaint required), though it's only used to wield the Long/Short GN Blade or the Amazing GN Blade/Brinicle and Prominence Blades.
• If one chooses, the back piece from the HGBF Gundam Amazing Exia (Repaint required) can replace the original Exia's piece to make it compatible with HG Build Custom backpacks (or any other backpacks from most of the current HGs).

B-Club related customizations

• High Detail Manipulators 154, 156, 221 and 222 can be used for this kit. (Repaint to 154 and 156 is required.)

Variants

Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.

Notes & Trivia

• Given the inclusion of the GN Pistols, one GN Hand Missile, and an NGN Bazooka, the kit also serves as an expansion kit for Gundam Dynames, Gundam Kyrios, and the GN-X III molds.
