Articulation

• The head can pivot/swivel on a universal/inverted ball-and-socket neck joint.
• The torso can tilt back and forth, or sideways (to some extent).
• The Core Fighter inside the torso frame can also tilt forward when docked with the upper body.
• The shoulder joints can swing forward (and backwards to some extent), and/or raise upwards.
• The arms can...
• Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
• Raise horizontally.
• The front and back of the shoulder armor flaps can flip up to provide clearance.
• The upper arms can rotate.
• Both the elbows and knees are double-jointed.
• The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.

Tips & Tricks

• For better results, some of the details need to be panel-lined with Gundam markers.
• Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied decals. (Water-based topcoat is recommended due to the kit having PP parts)
• If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
• The additional accessories from the RG Weapons Set for RX-78-2 Gundam (Ver. 2.0) can be used on this Gunpla.
• Due to tolerance issues for the first run of the kit, the outward surface of the red "eyelids" might prevent the side head armor parts from fitting properly. This problem can be solved by sanding the areas until they are even with the "mask" piece.

Customizing-based tips

• The Last Shooting beam effect from the RG MSN-02 Zeong (Last Shooting Effect Set) can be used on this Gunpla.
• The Gundam can only combine with the B-Parts from the HGUC G-Armor, though the feet parts must pivot upwards to provide clearance.

• This Gunpla is...
• First revealed on March 22 as part of Bandai Hobby's "Hobby New Item Info" for this month.
• The first:
• 1/144 scale Gunpla, and by extension, the first Real Grade kit, to bear the "Ver. 2.0" moniker.
• RG to feature the cross-compatible rear mounting points first used on the HGAC XXXG-01W Wing Gundam.
• Released to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
• Like the 2020s Entry Grades and the High Grade the Witch from Mercury kits, most of the interior/exterior frame areas utilize a similar C-clip-styled construction, which is designed to be assembled once and then locked at a different angle.
• Unlike the previous release, this RG RX-78-2 Gundam does not come with a standing 1/144 scale figurine.
