Kit Features & Gimmicks
Articulation
- The head can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint, or pivot back on a hinge-joint neck.
- The torso can tilt forward or sideways in a limited range.
- The shoulder joints can be raised upwards.
- Due to being used with transformation, the shoulders can collapse down to its default position if one chooses,
- The arms can...
- Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
- Raise horizontally.
- The upper arms can rotate.
- Elbows and knees are double-jointed, allowing a bend of up to about 170 degrees.
- The wrists can pivot up or down.
- The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- The waist can rotate.
- Front skirt armors and side binders are poseable to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
- The hip joint axis is on a curved vertical track and move independently from each other, allowing each leg to be lowered for better movement range.
- The upper thighs can swing frontwards/backwards on a peg joint, raise horizontally, and/or rotate on each part.
- Ankle joints can pivot back and forth/tilt sideways in a limited manner.
- Front foot pieces can tilt.
Weapons/Other Gimmicks
- The index-to-pinky finger parts are swappable.
- The Aegis can be transformed between MS and MA mode.
- The Beam Rifle can be held in either hand in MS mode, though it requires the trigger-finger digit.
- The handle can be folded for storage. The rifle can then be attached to the side waist armor using a specified connector piece.
- The same mechanism is applicable for attaching the rifle in MA mode.
- The Shield can be attached onto either forearm in MS mode.
- It can also be stored on the side waist armor, attached in the same manner when in MA mode.
- Beam effect parts can be attached to each blade on the arms and legs to replicate the beam sabers deployed.
- The Aegis can be mounted on Action Bases 1 or 4. A different adapter is provided for each mode.
Tips & Tricks
- For better results, some or most of the details are needed to applied/panel lined with Gundam Markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
- Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers/marking decals and if any, painted details.
- If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
Variants
Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
- MG GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam (Clear Color Ver.)
